Beer

Son, a woman is like a beer. They smell good, they look good, and you’d step over your own mother just to get one!”

— Homer Simpson

Like Homer, Oregonians love beer. And there’s a great big ol’ world of beer to love. Our collection of craft beers is focused on small producers coaxing rich, dynamic flavors from the finest hops, malts, spices, and water. It’s a bit like a world tour of beer and the itinerary includes, Pinkus Hefeweizen from Germany, St. Peter’s Cream Stout from England, Boon Kriek Cherry Lambic from Belgium, Ommegang Hennepin (a Belgian style golden ale) from Cooperstown, NY, and “Fred” from Hair of the Dog made right here in the Rose City.

Wheat beer goes well with a mild or tangy cheese

like Saint-Nectaire or Tumalo Tomme.

On Beer & Cheese

When it comes to pairing beer and cheese, most people stop with cheddars or maybe whatever cheese comes atop pizza. And that’s just not right! Beer is a very cheese friendly beverage – it’s not as finicky as wine and the pairings can be just as exciting. Stop by, pick out a cheese or beer, and we will help you find a good pairing, or better yet, throw caution to the wind and experiment with pairings of your own.

A few parings we like:

  • Bra Tenero (cow’s milk cheese from Italy) Pinkus Hefeweizen
  • Tumalo Tomme (goat’s milk cheese from Juniper Grove Farm, OR) Stone Ruination, IPA (CA)
  • Coolea (cow’s milk cheese from Ireland) Ommegang Hennepin (NY)
  • Bayley Hazen Blue (cow’s milk cheese from Jasper Hill Farms, VT) St. Peter’s Cream Stout
