October 24th Class: Mixing It Up with Vermouth
October 17, 2011
If you think vermouth is just a sticky sweet, slightly medicinal, vaguely nasty ingredient to be used only when absolutely necessary, then prepare to be deliciously surprised! Join us for Mixing it Up with Vermouth, a class with Neil Kopplin, formerly the mixologist at Clyde Commons and now the producer of Imbue Bittersweet Vermouth. Neil say vermouth has “been such a mystery for most Americans, that I feel a personal responsibility to begin to educate people about this delicious and often ignored category.”
In the class, Neil will discuss the history, ingredients and process of making vermouth, as well as share ideas and recipes for using it and other aperitifs in exciting new concoctions. He’ll be making some light cocktails during the class and naturally we’ll be pairing a few cheeses along the way. We hope you’ll join us for this very serious educational opportunity, when we will sip at the feet of the master and shout Viva Vemouth!
