September 17th Big Do!

This week's Friday Tasting is turning into a Big Do! We'll have two authors, two wineries, and a cheesemaker on hand to help you start the weekend right. Sasha Davies' new book The Guide to West Coast Cheese, and Cole Danehower's just released Essential Wines and Wineries of the Pacific Northwest are invaluable guides to the best producers in the Northwest, and they'll be here to chat and sign copies. Plus, Phelps Creek Vineyards and Anam Cara Cellars (both profiled in Cole's book) will be here to share their lovely wines. Nick & Sheila Nicholas from Anam Cara will be offering tastes of their 2008 Nicholas Estate Riesling, 2007 Nicholas Estate Pinot Noir, 2006 Reserve Pinot Noir, and 2008 Nicholas Estate Gewurztraminer. From Phelps Creek Vineyards, we'll be tasting the 2008 Unoaked Chardonnay, 2008 Pinot Noir Le Petit, 2008 Brimstone Red Wine Columbia Valley, and 2008 Pinot Noir Columbia Gorge. And as though that were not enough, Paul Obringer from Ancient Heritage Dairy (one of our favorites and in Sasha's book) will also be here to share some of their superb cheese. How lucky we are to live in Oregon, surrounded by such abundant talent!

It's all happening this Friday, September 17th, 4:30 to 6:30pm. Life is grand -- and we hope to see you here!
