Introducing the F&D Banh Mi

<F&D's Banh Mi

A Vietnamese sandwich at Foster & Dobbs? Mais oui! For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure, the Banh Mi relfects Viet Nam’s colonization by the French—baguette, mayonnaise, and charcuterie—but with a zest that is all Southeast Asia— hot peppers, pickled vegetables, and cilantro. Ours features country-style pork pate on Pearl Bakery Baguette garnished with pickled carrots and daikon, fresh cilantro, Sriracha mayonnaise, and jalapeño jam.* What we love about Banh Mi (and you will too) is the wonderful blend of textures (crunchy baguette, crisp pickles, and course pate) and layering of flavors (salty, sour, spicy, sweet). Served with tossed greens, $8.

*The pickles and jam are made for Foster & Dobbs by Kris Komori (one of our staff who also cooks at Park Kitchen). His business, Little Forest Pickles, supplies fine restaurants around Portland.
