March 30th Class: Intro to IPAs
March 23, 2010
Here in the Pacific Northwest, we love our hoppy beers. Punchy, flavorful and bitter: somehow IPAs just seem like the perfect beer. If you’re a big fan of the India Pale Ale and would like to know more about the history and range of flavors of this venerable style, join us for Intro to IPAs, a class with Dan Pereyo, on Tuesday, March 30th. Dan will discuss how this style was created in England over two hundred years ago, how it developed as it moved across the US, and what is happening to it in the hands of NW craft brewers today. Naturally we’ll be tasting the beer – and pairing it with cheese! – as Dan introduces us to this sublimely bitter world.
