March 9th Class: Pinot Noir & Terroir
February 28, 2010
Pinot noir may be the world's most persnickety grape: it’s fussy about where it's grown, temperamental about being handled, and maddeningly easy to ruin. Yet winemakers around the world are seduced by this noble grape, driven to make wine that embodies its silky, lusty charms. From Burgundy to California, from Oregon to New Zealand and Australia, winemakers create marvelous wines strikingly influenced by sun and soil. If you too have fallen for this grape and want to learn more, join us on Tuesday, March 9th for Pinot Noir & Terroir , a class with Cole Danehower. Cole is passionate about wine (he's the Co-Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of NW Palate magazine) and brings abundant knowledge and enthusiasm to the subject. He’ll lead us through a tasting from the major pinot noir centers and discuss how the grape, land, weather and winemakers conspire to create great wine. Join us!
