March 5th Tasting: Wines for the Shoulder Season
February 27, 2010
The Shoulder Season: that period when spring is nearly here but winter hasn’t quite passed completely. We’re tired of hearty winter meals but the spring veggies haven’t yet arrived at the grocery store. It’s a betwixt and between time, and we’re all a little itchy to shake off the winter blahs! One way to perk things up might be to try out some new wines. Drop by the shop from 4:30 to 6:30pm this Friday, March 5th when Briana Nelson with Young’s Columbia will be offering samples of four tasty wines that are great for this time of year: 2007 Clos du Val Ariadne Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc, 2008 Airlie Muller Thurgau, 2007 Palacios Romando La Vendimia Rioja, and 2006 Crios di Susana Balbo Syrah/Bonarda. Come on by and taste these yummy, modestly priced wines – and then let’s give winter the boot!
