Nov. 13th Tasting: Wines of Alsace
November 08, 2009
Summer may be gone, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to leave the white wines behind. Au contraire! The Alsace region of northern France offers white wines that have the richness and expressiveness for pairing with hardy winter fare like sausages, braised meats, nutty cheeses, mushrooms and onions. Whether bone dry or with just a hint of residual sugars, their fruit expressiveness is a perfect complement to the savory qualities of holiday meals that include poultry, pork, game, and cheese courses. Drop by the shop this Friday, November 13th from 4:30 to 6:30pm , learn a bit about the region and taste some of these lovely wines. David Baer from Triage Wines will be here to share samples of NV Bott-Geyl Cremant d’Alcase Brut , 2005 Bott-Geyl Riesling Grafenreben de Zellenberg, 2006 Barth Muscat, and 2006 Barth Pinot Gris. Wrap up your Friday the 13th with something delicious and surprising!
