Friday Tasting: Brooks Wines
September 15, 2009
Brooks Wines are a reminder of what’s so great about the wines and winemakers around here. Jimi Brooks started the winery in 1998 with a strong commitment to organic and biodynamic farming in the vineyards, a gentle approach to winemaking, and boundless enthusiasm for the Pinot Noir and Riesling from the Willamette Valley. When he died unexpectedly in 2004, his fellow winemakers volunteered their time and energies to continue making Jimi’s wines for his young son Pascal, now thirteen and sole owner of the winery. Jimi’s sister Janie Brooks Heuck now runs the winery on Pascal’s behalf and winemaker Chris Williams has continued making the wines that Jimi loved so much.
Join us this Friday afternoon for a tasting of some of these delicious wines: Brooks 2007 Riesling Willamette Valley, Brooks 2007 Amycas White Blend, Brooks 2006 Rastaban Pinot Noir (only 129 cases produced), and Brooks 2007 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The free tasting is 4:30 – 6:30pm, September 18th.
